Madrid
Located on a plateau in the centre of Spain, Madrid's temperature goes from one extreme to another during the year. Its nightlife, however, is always hot and it is one of Europe's premier 24-hour cities. As well its top-notch music venues and clubs, the Spanish capital is home to renowned galleries - art lovers should definitely not miss the fabulous collections at the Prado, the Reina Sofía and the Thyssen museums - and concert venues such as the Teatro Real or Sala Arena. You can also relax in the Retiro park or head out to the National Pantheon at El Escorial.
